hi last year i bought a Punica granatum at wilkos its sitting on my kitchen windowsill but its dropping its leaves

It's not dying, they're deciduous.

Hope you've a big window cill. This is potentially a large shrub. I have a nanum which lives in a pot outside all year.
Have seen granatums outside in Chelsea Physic Garden and Golders Green but may not be hardy where you are.

They survive deep snow and ice at my father in law's place in northern Italy...I don't think they need to be indoors. And yes, they can get very big. His are about 20ft tall.http://mudandgluts.com - growing fruit and veg in suburbiaComment

As sparrow100 has said, pomegranates are very hardy. Because they are deciduous they are not damaged by the weight of snow on the leaves. They have a tendency to be mallee instead of throwing up a single trunk.Comment
