Does anyone grow the orchid cactus, epiphyllum? My dad used to grow them and I had cuttings from his that I grew. I'm planning on starting a few again now I have room.

I've some which despite neglect give some spectacular flowers.
They overwinter at 5 deg C. I believe they need a cold spell to initiate flower buds.
They go outside in the shade in summer.

There are some scented varieties which in the evening will beat lilies.

I've ordered 3 varieties from ebay, hoping to start a collection, some amazing seeds available from the USA, never grown them from seed before, may try that in the spring.

Received 3 rooted cuttings from an old neighbour from down in Leicestershire, these were from a plant I gave them 30 years ago. The original plant was one of my dads from the 1970's, really happy that we are still keeping this going.
