  • The 'I need ideas please for a pressie' thread!

We did this a few years ago ,and it was really interesting to hear some ideas.....so I'll start with my quandaries if I may?

    Last 2 pressie...both about £30...

30 yr old son. Very modern, loves gadgets and cars.....
90 yr old mother. Got everything she needs!

both need to be small and light and can be carried in the hold on a plane....and not bought over the Internet !

any ideas very, very welcome please!

    Why no internet Nicos?

I know that many online shops can arrange collection from the closest A*gos if post is your problem.

I bought solar fairy lights for my daughter in the UK online...and it's been cloudy/rained ever since!
Hopefully they will be more handy in the summer!

Unless I'm delusional which is ofter the case did you mention that you have a flea market near you? How about getting your son something car related but from an old car? A headlight, badge etc and explain it away as the fore runner of todays fast and furious.

As far as you Mum is concerned is there a really good patisserie(cake shop) as my spelling is carp. Take her for a full afternoon of yummy goodness.

If your son likes tinkering buy an old wireless (radio to you) that needs fixed and and give him that along with any spare parts required, I know you said modern, but its surprising how much satisfaction comes from getting something to work.
For your Mum similar to what Lumpy said take her to a nice cafe, then ask her what charity she would like you to make a donation to in her name.

The satisfaction re the radio is similar to your wife doing the housework while you (husband) sit about
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

If you have a family photo that was taken at a special occaision e.g birthday, christmas or holiday get a nice frame for it and give it to your Mum.

Hmmm...I had thought having read these posts that maybe print out a load of piccies of either us living in France...or me as a youngster and making a 'memory lane ' booklet...plus a rather snazzy cafe / restaurent nosh up!

My son loves taking things to pieces, so mmmm......a nice idea about getting something old he'd need to fiddle with to work.

Do keep ideas coming in though...I may not be able to find my initial ideas!

                              Anyone else needing help,with pressies???
