    Unofficial T&M Potato Growing Challenge 2017

    Thompson & Morgan are offering a Potato Growing Kit to all readers of the GYO magazine (January 2017 - on sale now). Its free but P&P is £5.65.

    Buy Plants, Seeds, Fruit Trees & Seed Potatoes | Thompson & Morgan
    The offer includes, 5 Charlotte tubers, 5 growing bags, 5 random packets of seed and a pair of scrubbing gloves.

    Anyone care to join me in a little challenge - to see how many potatoes we can grow from these 5 tubers in these growing bags?
    If you really felt up for it, we could grow the 5 packets of seed too and see just how much we can produce for "free"............OK £5.65

    I also tried to add 2 99p packets of seeds to the order but it wanted 6.99 for postage - might just have been me though.

      I tried to add seeds to and the same thing happened - so stuck with the spuds.
      There's a £5 voucher code that came with the confirmation email! Maybe try ordering with that?

        It will be interesting to see how 1 Charlotte in an 8 ltr bag will do.

        Particularly good for people like me who is spaced challenged.

          I took up a similar offer last year, and they were really good - I'm not keen on charlottes though

            Good luck, but I shall get my tatties locally and intend to grow in the ground as my experiment with growing in bags last year was a tad disappointing . I shall watch with interest.

              Lumpy, I wanted to see if I could use the £5 voucher code - ended up buying 11 packets of seeds On the bright side its 5 for the price of 4 and £5 off
              £5.86 for 11 packets incl P&P

                Sorry to be a bit of a scrooge but.................. Seems a tad expensive for five tatties and five growing bags! The seeds are irrelevant as I have plenty anyway and you don't get to choose which.

                            Watch out for those £5 vouchers - its a vicious circle! I ordered seeds with the 1st one, and another £5 voucher appeared with that order!
