  • Grow seeds from farm shop squash?

Anyone tried? Any success? I've saved loads and am hoping to grow them next year

I don't want to be all negative, but I probably wouldn't. Squashes cross very readily within their families and unless the farm was only growing one variety the seeds most likely won't come true. I've grown an unidentified cross before and the fruit was horrible. What varieties are they?

Sorry but my advice would be the same. Squashes and pumpkins are notoriously promiscuous and there is nothing worse than spending time and effort lovingly tending to your plants and nurturing them to maturity only to find them inedible and only fit for the compost bin.

I'm in at number 3 and would also say don't waste your time and growing space on something that maybe inedible, won't fruit etc. For a couple of quid you can grow something that you will be able to eat and enjoy.
