  • Happy with the son today.

Son had an appointment with one of our older tenants this morning.

On arrival the curtains were still drawn and there was no answer to his knocking (and boy can he knock). He called me to report and went to his next job 3 doors away, whilst there he asked if they had seen anything of the chap "That's strange said the lady, we always see him going for his paper just after 9o/clock and I haven't seen him today."

Son finished his job and went back to find the curtains still closed and no answer to his knocking. After phoning me he phoned the letting agency, explained that this chap never lets us down and insisted some one bring the emergency key.

40 minutes later the old gent was found unconscious on the bedroom floor in just his socks and underpants. Ambulance arrived in 7 minutes and took him to hospital, daughter notified, house checked and left safe and secure, now we just have to await further news.

    Well done lad!!!

He didn't do it all on his own the lady from the letting agency also played her part by reacting so quickly. She has also set up a info line with the chaps daughter so we will be kept up to date on how he is doing.

We have been working for the agency for about 20 years so have got to know some of the older tenants quite well over the years, we are all on pretty much first name terms and with most of them it is a joy to visit. It is also nice to work with a very professional caring outfit.

It turns out it was an untreated water infection that caused the old guy to collapse, he is slowly getting better and they hope to have him back home soon, this time with professional carer's to help.

All we need to do now is get in and do the works before he comes home so we won't have to disturb his convalescence.
