First time I've grown it and the other plants were eaten by slugs. I'm not sure if the seed was just a different variety in the packet or something has gone wrong, but this is the only 'fruit' I got on the plant. I'm not sure if it's just turned into a marrow or whether it will ripen into a squash. Any ideas anyone?

very definatly not a tromboncino or marrow, it's a squash of some sort but what,leave it to ripen,someone will be along soon and say exactly what it issigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these

No, purplekat ~ defo doesn't look like tromboncino to me ...!
LD is right ~ someone who knows their squashes will put you right, soon ...!

The ridges don't look very clear in real life, I'd not even noticed them. Having looked back at my seed order, I did order some buttercup squash which is a similar colour, so maybe the label got stuck in the wrong pot (although I have no idea what happened to the rest of the plants!)Comment
