  • Greenhouse smokes.

My usual supplier of greenhouse smokes tells me that they are no longer in use.
Like to fumigate my greenhouse every winter before washing it down. Has anyone any ideas what else to use.
    Thanks.

You can still buy garlic smokes, but I don't know how good they are.
Greenhouse fumigation candles 1 Pack - Pest Control

    I wash mine down with J E Y E S fluid, instead.

      Thank you for your help.
The problem that I have is being aluminium there are hollow sections that I can not get into.
Usually just let off a couple of candles [greenhouse 4 meters square] and then power wash it.
Will try the candles this winter.

Sorry, goosander, was on a totally different wavelength ..... was going to suggest for crashing the ash, a pack of Marlboro or Superkings ..............

Last year I used Vitax greenhouse fumigator £7-99p from the Bay, checked and its still available.

Seems to have worked for me I shall be using the same this year.

Can I just ask a quick question. Do you need to fumigate if you haven't had any problems with pests in the green house?

Ive never fumigated but I give it a thorough good clean with the power washer and Jays same as Thelma. One year I missed and I paid for it with a serious greenfly infestation.

I wash with Jayes too but get into the ally channels with one of those pot-washing brushes on a handle.

Tried the Vitax fumigator last year in a small greenhouse 6x6. Made sure all the holes were blocked. When finished I opened the door and spiders and other things still flying about. Keep finding small white things in the greenhouse channels like cocoons but the power washer will not remove them.
The sulphur smokes killed everything and when finished the house looked clean.
