Nice pic of fasciation in my courgette

Important question - does it count as one or two for the how many courgettes etc thread?

    That's a great photo
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Thanks, see it in flowering plants a bit (particularly forsythia for some reason) but not so much in fruit.

        Nice photo Humph.

I've got one on my Shooting star as well - I thought that as you can't prepare them separately then it's one.

Of course if you want to count it as two it's your choice.

After all we're not a competitive lot here and it's not a competition is it.

I mean the count is only for your own records - the only person you're fooling is yourself.

We're hardly going to post CHEAT in great big red letters are we.

But seriously I don't think anyone would argue either way

I have counted it as one - the shame would be too much to bear otherwise

Shall be bbq-ing it & others on Tuesday & will definitely be slicing it your way VCp

OH has read this thread andd called us "vegetable nerds"

He also laughed out loud & was v enthusiastic about VC's slicing method. Combined with his unprompted dash down the garden for extra ingredients for dinner I think he may be joining us!

You need some small baby carrots for noses.

Not too sure about eyes though. Small slices of chives (would look like spectacles)

Always a good day when you learn a new word especially if it's about plants (& food)!

I've had fasciated tomatoes and chilis, never seen a courgette before though.

Had it bbq'd today - looked really cute but was all eaten before I got a chance to take a pic! Apparently they fall through the grill less easily which is good...
