    Chilli help!!

    Afternoon all!

    I've just spotted today that my Demon Red chilli looks like the top of the plant is dying! It's in a chilligrow with two other, different varieties that are looking very healthy (as was this one a couple of days ago...) so I'm at a loss. Has not been allowed to dry out and has been fed as per instructions...any ideas?? (Apols cannot figure out how to get the pics the right way up!)

    w33blegurl, hope an expert comes along soon to help ....
    Is it just the top that looks poorly? I can't tell from your piccie... Are they outdoors?
    (I ask because some of mine in GH were affected a bit, sort of leaf scorch is what I put it down to. So I moved them to GH floor off the shelving so not in the direct sun)

    Your chillis look rather good ~ can I see some fruits nestling in there...?

      There are a few problems that cause wilting in chillies...have you got any other symptoms showing? Any mould, browning of stems, is it just one stem affected? If so I would be tempted to cut that one out
      Look up bacterial wilt, verticillium wilt.

      NG had some wilting problems but I think the fruits also were rotting?

        Yes, they are outside (no room in the blowaway!) but up to now had been doing OK! It has been hot and sunny the last few days so scorch is possible, but I've also had a look at that link and it also looks a bit like Verticillium Wilt or Bacterial wilt. At the moment it's only the top leaves and the bottom ones look healthy! There are indeed a couple of nice looking chillis in there so might whip them off the bush quickly!!

        Will keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't spread to the other two which are the best chillis I've grown in years, one is covered in fruit (not ripe yet through!).
