  • Cucamelons no flowers or melons

Well yet another failure this year to add to the list. All my seemingly healthy cucamelons growing outside, in a pot and in the greenhouse border have NO flowers. They are supposed to be so easy to grow so why have they not flowered or do they flower later in the season ?

Everything is late this year. My kiwano has no flowers yet. Hopefully we'll have a bit of heat this week.

The weather has been rubbish, no other reason.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've given up on all but one of my cucamelon plants this year - I think I need to sow them much earlier next year

I've had one cucamelon so far! The flowers are so tiny I can barely see them. The first cucamelon was lovely!

the sun has come out, this morning the melon plant leaves were hanging down, looking really drab, after a mornings sun and warmth they look decidedly perkier, I made the mistake of telling OH and now she wants me to sit out there...

Is it really braggy to say mine has flowered, & Ive harvested about 20 cucamelons so far? The flowers are really tiny, & the fruits tend to hide a bit.

                            No Cucamelons

Well I have a few cucamelon plants that have been growing healthy enough, although they took a long time to get going. I have seen plenty of flowers and even some slight swelling of pods but that is about as far as it gets. Out of about 6 plants, some in soil, some in greenhouse I have had about 5 fully developed melons. Rubbish

Marb, I've merged this with your previous thread for continuity.

I had 2 cucamelon plants in a GH and picked about 4. To be honest, they're so small and tiddly I'm not going to grow them again. I'd rather grow a proper cucumber.
