  • Pumpkin Update...

    My lovely pumpkin today......

I've popped some bubble wrap underneath his little round bottom for a bit of comfort ..... Is that OK as I didn't know what else to use really - I didn't want the slate that he's sitting on to dig into his flesh ....?

    And his baby brother .......

He is lovely. He might get a soggy bottom if it rain, no where for it to go on bubble wrap ( but he does look comfortable). I'd use some straw or screwed up bit of weed suppressant. Anything that lets the water drain away from him.

One assumes you are going to pop them alive into a roasting hot oven and then eat there insides.

I would take away the Bubble wrap & use shredded newspaper or just sheets of scrunched ( is that a word?) up newspaper if you don't have any straw.

Last year I popped mine onto tiles and they went squishy.
This year I've popped mine onto piles of straw.

I believe Snadger has popped his onto a microscope slide.

..........((hushed tones...)) just got back from dog walkies ......enroute managed to stuff a few handfuls of straw into a small carrier bag, that I'd earlier stuffed into my pocket with said theft pre-meditated...... just hoping nobody else would be walking along the track .....
The flippin' bag felt really 'hot' in my thieving hand, as the walk back home stretched ahead of me....

Anyway, with much looking-over-my-shoulder, I made it back home without my crime being detected...!! (I hope.........)

These pumpkins had better be grateful for their new bedding, and how much moral distress it caused me ....... ( next time, think I'll just go to the pet shop and buy some...!!!!!)
