  • Provence peas, how do they grow?

I've got some through today from the monthly sowing guide but here is no instructions of how to grow them.

Do they grow upwards or do they grow in a bush?
Do they need any type of support?

    Thanks guys

If you mean Douce Provence, this is a bush variety which doesn't require any support, although personally I find all varieties of peas do best with something to climb up, if only a few sticks. Height is upto 50cm.

Agree with Penellype. I grow them with some support. I sow them late autumn or very early spring, as they are surprisingly hardy. Apparently they are good sown mid to late summer for an autumn crop, but I've never tried that.

I sow mine in October November and find that they definitely require support....but then my allotment is pretty exposed.
