Yellow turned up Tomato leaves

    Yellow turned up Tomato leaves

    As title states some of my tomarto leaves are turning yellow mainly bottom of plant and some are curling up. They are all in planters, wateted each night with feed. Should I water more because its so hot? Epsom salts? Cut them off?

    New to this tomarto thing have been cutting off thee armpits but is the plant still to bushy? Picture of the whole plant is two medium tomarto plants Alicante and Moneymaker

    The cherry tomarto plant is supersweet 100

    I've just cut off all the yellowing leaves below the first truss of fruit - my hands are green

      Wash your hands with a weak solution of vinegar.

      The yellow stuff is "Tomato Tar" which is part of the tomatoes defence against insects. It reacts with alkaline stuff (like washing powder) and goes green. However, it dissolves in acid (vinegar) and can then be washed away.

          To me, its just lifecycle stuff. Oldest leaves die off first - I don't worry about it until every leaf has turned yellow

              My medium toms are Alicante & Moneymaker really I have only been cutting armpits off using twine and stakes to assist the plant bit of trial and error. We are going to save for a greenhouse next year and be a little more serious about toms.

              Should I have pruned and cut more?

                Both varieties are cordon & should have been grown on one stem with all the sideshoots removed. It can be grown unpruned but will produce smaller fruits & will look like a tangled mess. Tomatoes need plenty of air circulation & think that could be your problem. Just remove any yellow leaves & thin out any none fruit bearing stems.
