I got my first colony of bees on 15th June, when a swarm swirled into the garden and into my hive. Call me patient - I've had the hive since May 2015, just waiting for this day

They are a fascinating hobby. Beware: they are addictive.
I suggest you join your local beekeeping Association if not a member: they can offer lots of help.

It's a self built 5 frame jumbo Langstroth nuc. Made from 50mm Celotex (s/h). Total cost £2 - paint and glue and aluminium foil tape. Frame runners from a recycled exhaust heat shield fallen in the road.
