Too many flowers on strawberries?

Is it possible to have too many flowers and greenery and therefore little fruit on your strawberries? My strawberry bed is very 'packed with plants' and was looking great with loads of white flowers a couple of weeks ago, now I'm thinking, there aren't going to be many strawberries?

Is this possible?

I might go and cry if you say 'yes'!

Look at the bottom of the plants. After flowering the stem will bend down and the strawberries will grow. That's why you put straw down to keep them off the soil.
