  • Fig identification ( doesn't look like one )

Hi, this year started on a small fig collection to add to my fruit collection, I'm no expert on figs but an order arrived today and one one of the figs ( the white Adriatic ) in the pot just doesn't look like a fig to me , the other plant shown is from the same place as fig violet dauphine ,

It's a bit of an odd angle to be able to tell properly, but the leaves look a bit like my honeyberry - they're the same shape and sort of furry

Could you email the picture to the supplier raising your concerns?

I would be astounded if that is a fig.
Same suggestion that WendyC has made.
            I would also ring them.
Feed the soil, not the plants.
            (helps if you have cluckies)

I got these from eBay , after the issue I checked their feedback
Not great so don't think I'll even bother , lesson learned , I've had wrong varieties sent before but never wrong species

Could it be a weeping fig.

The lh plant doesn't look like a fig. Try cutting a piece off. If it doesn't have a milky sap it's not a fig.
