  • TOGI tomato

    Hi,

I participated in one of the tomato seed exchanges a couple of years ago and this year got around to sowing some TOGI seeds. The thing is, I don't know if it's a bush tomato or a vine tomato. Has anyone else grown this one?

Looking at my plants, it could be either. Just wanted to check before planting out this weekend.

    Thanks.

I think Zaz had them listed as both a bush and a vine but the vines were labeled as Togi Vines.

I believe this is a segregating variety from a chance cross of 'Irish' Gardeners Delight and Latah. Found and sold by Real Seeds. They took it to the third generation before releasing it, I can't remember if they sorted them into cordon or bush types from the beginning or whether that came later. The Togi pack I have is the XL line which are 'bush' and an F3 in 2010/11.

It's possible you may have both types in your selection and even some semi-determinates. Do you know who shared the seed, perhaps they are still posting and you can ask them what they selected for?

Hope they do well for you.

Mysterious! I'll just put them in big pots with a cane and keep a close eye on their growth. Hope they taste good!

          Thanks for your replies.
