What would you do with this bay?

My mum gave me this bay tree from her garden - it's the baby of one I gave her about 25 years ago, bought from my pocket money. I have no idea what variety it is.

What would you do with it? It's a bit stick-like. Is there anything I can do to make it bush out a bit more?

I would plant in an open sunny/part sunny spot it should soon romp away.

Plant it and nip out the growing tips and you will soon have a monster.
