    Temperatures

    Ok so it isn't exactly warming up. So far in my GH I have radish, flowers(nasturtiums, cornflowers, sunflowers, sweet peas) , runners and dwarfs (beans not real dwarfs)

    In the house tomatoes ,chillis, 2 cuc gergena, diva, 5 courgette , 2 squash, pinto beans, cosmos, zinnia

    GH has been down to 2.4 this week. (We've had frost hence things in GH)
    My question is what could go in or shall I just wait a bit longer?

    The flowers listed in your greenhouse are all hardy annuals so will be ok outside, after a period of hardening off. Then you could shuffle some plants out of the house into the greenhouse.

      The weather is mental at the mo, was out in T-Shirt yesterday & overcoat today..............I think it's me that needs hardening off, never mind the plants.

          It's freezing here, I've had to shut both ends of my polytunnel for the first time in weeks - hopefully last night's cold temps haven't set back the toms and sweetcorn that are in there already.

            I considered putting the heating on indoors last night!
            I didn't because I'm miserly and stubborn and I refuse to pay for heat one week from blazing June but still, this is, yet another, funny old year.

            And not in a good way.

              Its still not too late for the odd rogue frost but after today it should get a bit warmer. Temperatures can still fall on clear nights with little wind and those are the ones to look out for. It was cloudy here last night so it stayed around 8 degrees, but the downside to that is we are unlikely to top 10 degrees today.

              The weathermen have been saying for a while that the current setup is a bit strange, and today's situation, with low pressure and rain moving in from the east is certainly a new one on me! To be honest, I don't think they have a clue what will happen except that it is likely to be "showery and unsettled" almost anywhere for the forseeable future!

                considering this years temperatures I am surprised at how well the plants are doing in the garden and unheated g/houses, tomatoes now over 2ft tall in the g/house and outdoor figs the size of an average conker, but I am not counting on it lasting as last year the melons died on the plant, in the greenhouse, in AUGUST, they just rotted in the cold dark that was the summer, so its okay for now and fingers crossed...

                  It certainly is cold. I've just had the dog out for an hour and actually had to put my hat on. That wind is bloody freezing.

                    Mine went on tea time yesterday and it is on today, at only 12C outside it is cold in this old house. Even when I put my fleece on, I was still chilly so I gave in - life's too short to be cold indoors
                    I hope the toms and peppers will cope.

                        my heating hasnt gone properly off yet! I hate being cold and spend all day freezing in the office... so I'd rather pay to be warm

                        This weather is crazy - it is unbelievably cold out there today. My poor toms seem to be coping admirably (fingers crossed!)

                          Yes, Thelma, my heating has kicked in today - set at 19c, still sitting with a woolly on - it's all gone higgledy-piggledy, weather wise : yesterday overheating in the warmth of the sun and taking layers off, then there's today, piling the layers back on. No wonder our poor plants are struggling..!!!

                          I'd got many things outdoors yesterday, 'hardening off' : today I've left them in the GH (rightly or wrongly) as it's just TOO much of a temperature fluctuation. ...

                            Even down here I've packed away and then retrieved my winter gardening gear twice already this spring.
