  • Food for beans and peas

I know usually you would prepare the soil well in advance before planting any kind of veg not just beans and peas. But i'm curious as does anyone give a fertiliser feed when the flowers start forming on the bean and pea plants??

Growing in containers I have to feed or get no crop. High nitrogen until the first flower and then change to high potash to swell the harvest.

I thought because beans and peas already were high in nitrogen you didnt give anything too high in that??
Would love someone to do a table of veggies and what product they use for them! Make things loads easier for newbies to gardening lol

Pretty much yes, being idle its easy and seems to work for me. I also use concentrated sea weed to give a boost to my onions and 7-7-7 for sweetening used compost.

#4 I find that a dose of high nitrogen give them an additional growth boost, it certainly does no harm........therefore it can only do good.
