  • Quick update. Just planted.

So...after plenty of reading and questions raised bed made and I figured I'd start off small. Also took on board some comments and paired that with a "this year will be a learning curve" attitude. after a trip to the garden centre I've talked my pal into doing veggies too we both picked out some veggies and figured we would just plant and see what happens. So this is plant day.

From left to right sugar snap peas x2 pear shaped tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and baby corn x2

Great to hear your mate is going to start growing veggies too!

      Talking about a learning curve....
My first thought was that maybe your sweetcorn is a bit too close....then looking up on t'internet , and other sfg threads I realise they are fine!
See...you taught me something today! Thanks

Best way to learn is just get stuck in and started I'm sure the first x no of years are learning curves for most of us. Anyway it looks good.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

That looks brilliant- well done you!

I must admit I breathed a small sigh of relief when I saw your list as my toms are outside tonight and I really hope they are not all crispy tomorrow.

What corn is it as I have none for this year.

Thanks for the kind words guys I'm happy with my veg patch so far built a little trellis for the sweet peas using bamboo and some string so they can climb up.

And lumpy this is the corn I've got

              Great way to start off..
My only concern is whether those tomatoes have been hardened off? If not, the nights certainly might test them! Have you any fleece you can throw over them? Were they inside or outside in the GC?
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Outside when I picked them up there's 2 types one is pear shaped and yellow and the other is red and heart shaped which the OH insisted on. Also might I add I live in Devon - Plymouth if this helps. As I can't add my location atm
