Have you tried the garden companies like D T Brown and Marshalls etc.

Someone gave me some and I planted them in pots to try them out.

I have to say I wasn't impressed with the flavour. It was a little bit weird and not a flavour I was interested in but I was going to put them in a bed on the allotment. However the vine weevil grubs got them before I was able to plant them out so that has taken care of the decision.

I am sure I have seen them advertised in some of the gardening catalogues.

A friend got some from a car boot and has kindly given me a plant! Can't wait to taste them.
I assume they set runners like normal strawberries?

Were you after the strasberry aswell? (I know them as framberries) If you are not in a rush I should be able to do runners of both at the end of the season. Most nurseries and garden centres charge quite a bit for what they are.

I don't think the shopping channel link is for pineberries as the only ones I've seen are always white like these:

          Strawberry Pineberry

Edit: just realised that there are more than one variety supplied, should have looked properly

I got some of these from death row (reduced section ) in my local GC 3 years ago . They produced 12 runners from the 3 sick looking plants all of which fruited the following year. the taste is slightly pineapple like and they make a good but strangely anaemic jam, the real bonus for me is that while the birds ravage and pillage through everyone elses strawberries on the site they leave these alone, presumably because they think they're not ripe, I don't even net them

I've got a plant though I think I've killed it off twice it seems to bounce back. It seems like an everbearer as it didn't produce any runners last year and seemed to produce a slow trickle of berries all over the year, and some during winter.

If you imagine a ripe pineapple they taste like a mild version of that, like chewing the fiberous core of a ripe pineapple, but strawberry texture. Since they are white mine were just on the front all year, didn't have any problems with kids pinching them or birds either. If you have a space that's okay it might be worth chucking them in, but mine was an "eh" plant, in it didn't take much effort (I picked them) but the yield wasn't high for one plant, maybe 20 small berries (thumbnail sized) in a year.

I got mine from Wilko's a couple of years ago.
Forgive me for my pages of text.

I got mine from a kind forum member who posted some of his runners to me to try. I loved the flavour. I could send you some of my runners at the end of the year and post them out to you?
