My guess would be inside as the plants will grow vertically so will then grow through the mesh. If you plant outside there is a good chance that peas in particular will miss the frame altogether.

I always have the odd pea plant that don't want to try growing vertically,I have some that grow sideways & I have to untangle them & show them where they have to go. I'm wondering with peas planted on the inside,in the middle,it would be difficult to guide the plant if it's not climbing properly,at 1ft tall it could grow outwards & be difficult to reach to tie into the support maybe? You might be able to fit a hand through the hole? Planting on the outside,if the plants grow sideways it's easier put them straight. You can probably plant both sides to maximise the yield, peas aren't heavy,it looks strong enough? You could put plants on the inside & direct sow seeds for a later harvest on the outside?

Assuming it is running East to West, I would plant the North net on the outside & the South net on the inside. Whatever the orientation, remember the Peas/Beans will grow towards the Sun.

Thanks - it is running E/W (roughly). I hadn't thought to allow for the sun.

I have some Sugar snap peas in Root trainers ready to go out and will look to put some main crop peas in as well.
