  • chickens and chicks their horrible lives

I managed to get the OH to agree and bring home 6 chicks, spoke to the guy and he said sorry they are all male chicks for meat, there was 1500 in there a couple of days ago. Thought I would show you how he keeps them as well. Its about half full of what it normally is, he also keeps his own 6 chickens in there that have been there for over 2 years. Some of the things I hate about the backwards ways over here.

It's really horrible seeing this kind of thing going on,there's so much unnecessary suffering in the world if you look into things. There was a programme the other day, happening now, about intensively farmed cows here in the UK,being locked in the shelter every day,not being able to wander into any meadow to forage out in the open, the same cramp conditions every day of their lives, lined up too close to each other eating etc. Its so unnatural & mentally cruel. Animals shouldn't be kept locked up like prisoners, what have they done wrong? In fact prisoners probably get more fresh air?

Me too It sickens me the way some of the human race exploit and abuse animals....I don't know how they sleep at night!

The most ridiculous thing is....when you get down to the nitty gritty basics....it's all just for bits of paper and metal! ie money The older I get the more I am starting to despise the material world and the lack of compassion and common sense it breeds
