  • Soft Fruit Circle 2016

Anyone is welcome to join, as long as you meet the vine rules by March time.
    http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...nce_76437.html

Send 2 varieties of soft fruit either rooted or not. Ideally enough for everyone in the circle, if not a mix will be fine (still enough of something for everyone in the circle) and I will put up a list asking for peeps 1st and 2nd choices. The aim is to swap everything by March 2017.

No pressure, register your interest - and the varieties you fancy saving if you know what you are going to do. However we all know the best intended plans can go wrong, so do not panic

As this is a little different, please feel free to make suggestions.

Norfolkgrey - gooseberry-hinnomaki red, thornless blackbury- oregan, goji bery, pineberry - anablanca, framberry - red dream
GardenGayle - Mara des bois strawberries, whitecurrants.
maverick451 - malwina strawberry (very late)
veggiechicken - jostaberries, worcesterberries and blackcurrant baldwin

planetologist - blackcurrants (Ben something), autumn raspberries
stevejohnson53 - gooseberries May Duke, Golden Drop & Hedgehog also Leveller,
Hayley - ?red and black currant, pineberries, green & red gooseberry

I am officially registering my interest! Not sure I'll have anything to swap with the house move in between but I will do my best

I should definitely have some strawberry runners - I have temptation, Florence, Honeoye and Sarian (everbearing). Also have a few raspberries and blackberries if I figure out how to divide / take cuttings

      Yes, please.
I have mid-season blackcurrants (Ben something), autumn raspberries and am looking for early and late blackcurrants. (I love my blackcurrants.)

^^^no need to be sorry. The idea is to send plant material which may or may not already be rooted i.e gooseberry cuttings, raspberry divisions, strawberry runners etc.

The circle will hopefully finish March 2017 to allow people to root things over summer or take dormant cuttings in autumn/winter

            Does that make sense?

                    Id love to join

I have quite a few variety of strawberries, im not sure what would interest folks the most?

The ones I can think of that maybe of interest, Marshmellow, Royal sovereign, Vibrant (very early) Cambridge favourite, mara de bois, snow white, Gariguette, manille (cross between garguette and mara de bois) and malwina (very late)

Depending on numbers I probably dont really have enough stock of each to provide everyone with the same variety runners.

I'd like to register my interest.

I have Chilean Guavas, Mara des bois strawberries and yellow raspberries (not sure how to propagate these to send on though..) and whitecurrants.

I've never really tried taking cuttings so I'll have to do some research and cant promise anyone success...

I'll do some heritage gooseberries May Duke, Golden Drop & Hedgehog also Leveller, for sure but may be more varieties by next spring.

I am in the process of buying 9 different varieties of honeyberries at the moment but not sure about propagation success so dont hold your breath.

Black Red & White currants Some Strawberries & Raspberries should be available too

(Do we do a list of all varieties? I don't want to clog up the board :-) )

                          Steve

Still trying to get rid of them VC?

I'd love to join but the garden isn't mature enough yet so hopefully this thread works out so I can join in next year!
Forgive me for my pages of text.
