    Roses

    Has anyone grown roses from seed? How easy is it? Is there anything special I need to do. I fell for some very dodgy advertising on eeebay. And order seeds

    I don't even like roses! They bite back

    Sucker!! Technical term
    Dog roses seem to pop up everywhere so I guess they're not too difficult. Don't know about the ones that are supposed to be rainbow coloured, black, blue, orange with purple spots though!

      They are supposed to be the rainbow rose!!!! I looked at the photos again (after I had pressed buy). The leaves are artificial in the photos. So I'm not expecting rainbow roses.
      But it will be interesting to see what sort of roses do grow ( if any).

            I bought some bright Purple Tomatoes from China & they turned out to be Black Plum so I guess there is a bit of sucker in all of us.

              I am always so temped with all those crazy seeds from china, but have never gone through with buying any...........yet
              I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

                  I knew they wouldn't be rainbow coloured, I knew getting seeds from China was a VERY bad idea. But I really really wanted to believe it was real. I'm such a muppet sometimes. I'm still going to give them a go. Just to see what will appear ( if anything ). It's no great loss, they cost less than £1 including delivery

                    On the bright side SP, if they grow white, you can always experiment with the colours.

                      I've put food colouring in water with cut flowers before. Chrysanthemums I think it was ( it was a long time ago). It worked well.

                        Well, you numpty..........................So, let me get this right. You have already done the experiment with food colouring & you still order seeds...............In the voice of VM " I don't believe it"....................

                          I think most of the pictures you get in catalouges are photoshopped, flowers and veg.
                          it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
