  • How Are Your Structures Coping?

I could have quite easily posted a sentence on the "Happy" thread but instead wanted to wish everyone good luck during this awful weather we are having. So far the pallet & reed fence is standing up to the howling winds, as are the 2 kites, the greenhouse & 3 squash supports. I hope you as happy/lucky as me & any damages are minimal & repairable.

So far so good. Went down yesterday to check, ours is fine, others were not so lucky. A few have fences down and roof damage, one greenhouse looks caved in

That's good news but I expect there will be quite a lot of damage.

Things have been fine here BM only a few twigs/branches have blown of the Silver birch but they're far enough away not to cause damage.

Wind has been strong but not damaging thus far, my greenhouse is firmly anchored over the plot so hopefully I will avoid the worst

My greenhouse and OH shed still standing but our bin ended up in the middle of the road on Friday morning.
While OH was getting dressed a kindly neighbours son stopped and put it back on the footpath.
I know we in Dublin are getting the least of the awful storms, so stay safe all.

Touch wood, fingers crossed everything is fine here. It has been very windy. I tell all my animals to stay safe every night when I shut them in. I say the same to my polytunnels on the way past them every night to

I hate to say this but round here it's been a case of what wind?

We seem to have got away with this one. Please stay safe everyone, structures can be replaced 'Grapes' are rather more difficult.

Every year my old greenhouse has to be repaired last year it cost nearly £100 for replacement glass. Once one pane has gone the rest get blown out easily. This year i took out the auto openers and wired shut the windows. It's still in one piece at the moment but (in Jay and AP speak ) it's blowing a hoolie out there tonight - fingers crossed.

It is indeed blowing a hoolie Scarlet. I can cope with most weather conditions but heavy winds scare the life out of me after a friend lost his wife when an object blew down in bad winds. I always look up when windy.

Sad BM. Conker trees worry me. Twice we've had huge branches snap off (different trees) thankfully both times we were away on holiday.

The wind never seems to stop here, in between storms we have gales or just strong wind. Thankfully no damage, everything's tied down, even the sheds.
