  • What is this?

I built my first keyhole garden about 5 months ago and haven't actually started growing in it yet. I have these weird things growing in it. They are about 4 to 6 inches wide. I am thinking they are some sort of fungus. Anyone have experience with them?

      Hello and welcome
      Do they feel rubbery?
What did you fill your keyhole bed with?

I often get different varieties in the manure.

They do feel rubbery. I put down tree limbs then cardboard then hay from my goats hutch. I didn't add soil yet. Should I just leave them in there? Maybe break them up a bit?

I don't think they will do any harm but if you can break them up it should stop them overtaking

Sounds like the ones I've had, on straw/wood chip/manure from the local stables. You can grab them and pull them out if you wish, but they'll keep coming back until they've done their bit.
They don't seem to do any harm and they're probably aiding decomposition of the woody stuff.
