  • Small Celery ??

Not a complaint, does anyone know of a celery variety that remains small?

I cook with it occasionally and just about everything says 1 or 2 sticks of celery, what I have to buy is 12-15 sticks as a whole celery and the majority gets wasted.

Last time I looked I could buy a pack of celery sticks at £1:10 and get about the same as 3 sticks, but as a whole celery was 65p it was not an option to buy the small packet.

So I was hoping someone may know of a variety that remains relatively small so there is less of it.

Then I have to work out how to grow the stuff. Mind you the way everything has gone this year I should buy Giant Celery and I might then get about a stick per plant.

The celery I grow remains small. I'm not sure that's a trait of the variety though.

You could just grow any kind of celery and then cut the number of stalks you need. You don't have to harvest the whole thing.

You could always buy a whole head of celery, use what you want and chop the rest up snd freeze it.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

Exactly what I do with Green Utah, self blanching. Except they all rotted in the ground this year, during the drought

I find it very hard to grow and maybe get the odd few bits sprouting.
For the amount i use maybe a few times a year i have given up
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them
