  • Daffodil shooting up

    Hi all,
I've just notice that the daffodils are start to pop the head out. Maybe you he mild first 2weeks of November made them think Spring is coming. Is that normal? I've not plant them they were already in the ground maybe few years so I don't know what to do.

They usually sort themselves out. If it gets cold they stop growing.

Mine haven't appeared yet but I'm surprised they haven't yet. Mine appeared early last year and I just left them. They are fairly hardy and I don't think there's anything you can do to stop them. Its probably the mild weather that has tricked them into thinking it is spring.

Saw a couple of wild primroses in bloom the other day ...

            This!

I've got a few crocus starting to poke through the surface of pots on the allotment but I;'m sure they'll go back into hibernation mode with this blast of cold weather we are having this weekend Bulbs are pretty tough really...especially if, like yours, they've been in the ground a few years.
