  • what on earth is this???

I was clearing a area, I pulled a weed and found this underneath. I have no idea what it is apart from some sort of caterpillar
Although I think it has been having buffets in the brassica bed

Wish I had a £1 for every time someone finds one of these and asks what it is
      Cute isn't he?
Has he shown you his trunk yet?

They aren't too common Lisa so still be honoured. I took a couple to the Zoology department at the local University thinking they were summat awful and was pleasantly surprised. The guy I spoke to lovedthem. Told me they were usually found where there was Rosebay willowherb which there was in abundance around our plots.

The bugs are going crazy here we are having a very warm November and flies are everywhere.

I will find him a nice spot at the bottom of the garden away from the veggies.
