    The Chat Thread

The idea is of this thread is, that people can pop in when they have 5 minutes, put their feet up, have a little cuppa and a slice of cake (or a glass of something nice if the sun's over't' yard arm) and a bit of a natter.
A place for the chat that doesn't really fit in What I Did Today, or doesn't warrant a whole new thread. Then every so often we'll clear the thread so it doesn't get too big & unwieldy.

The name for the thread isn't set in stone, so if anyone has a better idea, suggest away

    Settle in and enjoy folks!

Welcome to November and a new chapter of Chatback.
Its another sunshiny Sunday here and so warm too. Fog down over the city but sunny up here on the hillside. Can't help feeling smug - though I won't when we have snow and I'm snowed in and their roads are clear and gritted.
    It may never happen
    Have a luvly day everyone

Family is due back anytime now from a week away visiting relatives in Ireland - the place is a pigsty, I'm going round the place frantically trying to make it habitual again.

I don't know where to start, there's so much to do.

Take it one room at a time. Don't do frantic it doesn't work.

Yes better to have one main room looking tidy than several unfinished. Let's hope the family are delayed a bit so Kevin gets more time. They'll probably just be pleased to be home
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Just remember if you hide stuff to make it look tidy, you'll need to remember where you shoved it!!!

They'll be so pleased to see you, Kevin, they won't notice the mess. You'd better comb your hair though

What a beautiful day. Lovely and sunny with no breeze.
Spent the afternoon walking on the beach and sitting in the sun.
Its hard to believe its the 1st of November.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

                  Hi Jay

                  1. Our boiler keeps firing up every so often for about 10 secs or so or so during the night when both the water heater and central heating are off. B.G. say it's all ok! Any ideas...it's very annoying as our bedroom is above the garage where the boiler is kept.

The reason this happens is just to fire the boiler up , to keep it ticking over in effect and tbh there is no need for it.
There will be a switch on your boiler saying "preheat on/off, just switch it too off.
They say it takes longer for your water to heat up if its off but i havent noticed it lol, much prefer the peacefull night.

Stunning day in swansea, spent the day tidying up in the garden and following two days indoors laying my sons wooden floor in his bedroom i bloody enjoyed a great day in the fresh air despite the fact my back is now inbits.

Funny day weather wise, thick fog at 6am, brilliant sunshine by 9.30, then as soon as the fog left it came back again.

Been really dense since about 11am (fog not me)

Evening all! It's been misty all day, no sunshine here although flat calm and not at all cold. Now the mist is thickening again, could be quite a murky night.

Still, the weatherman is promising a warm (17c) sunny day here tomorrow, which will be good. I want to get down the allotment again inbetween blood test and doctors appointment. I'm sure he won't mind if I turn up a bit muddy!

Meanwhile I'm in Christmad denial until December. No point getting stressed out too early, is there.
