    What are you having for your sunday lunch?

    We rarely do a sunday lunch thing, but have done a couple lately.
    We are going to light the fire (first time finally) watch a few movies and have a toad in the hole, (linda´s veggie sausages) cabbage that i pulled earlier this week that has gone with almost every meal. Roast potatoes, ones that are storing lovely from May still in the fridge. and mashed swede that i reluctantly paid 2e for a small one at iceland but i really fancy it.

    Whats your plans?
    I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

    P.s to be fair we won´t have it till 7pm but that is very early for us.
    I also bought a tin of black treacle so never know i might make a sticky pud

      Roast chicken with our own Savoy cabbage and roasted veg from the garden...plus bought onions.

      We've got beetroot,butternut squash,pottimarron,spuds and carrots ready for roasting.

      It'll be late eating for us too with all the building work etc so we'll be starving!

        Roast turkey breast with roast carrots, onions, and parsnips, steamed cabbage, and potato and parsnip mash. H/M apple pie for desert. All prepared by 8am today and in the oven with the timer on, so the rest of the morning is my own.

        Going off out for a late walk now.

              Leftovers from yesterday!

              I love cooking and eating big roast dinners but with the price of a joint of meat it is a luxury that we can rarely afford. It's reserved for cooking special meals for family coming over and Christmas. Toad in the Hole is like the next best thing
              LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                Jacket potato with cottage cheese and chives.

                OH is working nights so no point in cooking a proper meal. Will be making a nice Sunday lunch next weekend with us both being off work.

                    We eat our main meal at 7ish today its going to be beef stew and dumplings, with parsnips, carrots, leeks, serbian beans, tomatoes and celery out of the garden.
                    Location....East Midlands.

                              Too busy most weekends to do the full roast as it breaks up the day too much so only do it for a special thing or if we have people round. Today I'm having butties at the plot at lunch time and done stuffed marrow for tea with he last marrow from the plot. Have also cooked a load of dried beans up for a bean chilli tomorrow night.

                              Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                              Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
