    Good Morning All

    Hard to believe it's October already

    Although the year has flown by, judging by the entries in the VVS some of you have had a great growing year.

    Woke to fog this morning which along with the vibrant colours of the trees typifies October for me.

    I have also heard muttering a that the Gardeners Rest will get a bit of a clean this month

    Hilarious that I didn't even realize it was October until I read the post. I lose track of time very easily - all I know is how quickly it goes.

    Sun's out and looks like another beautiful autumnal day. Hoping October turns out to be a pleasant month. Still got lots of growing to do.

    LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

      Mike its been misty/foggy here every day this week and it makes the garden look magical with all those shiny spider webs.

        Meh, October already. I will blink and it will be November.
        I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

              I love Autumn! September and October are lovely months. "Pinch, punch, first of the month" oh, I wish my brother was about
              kitchen smell delicious at the moment...apples and pears cooking, ready for a pie for tea.

                I hate how October creeps up on you. You're all distracted by September's warm sunshine. You forget that after 30th September you slip straight into October like sliding into the deep end of the pool. Whoosh and you're in up above your head, floundering in the cold autumn.

                  October already!!!! Summer seemed shorter than usual this year, what with that deluge of rain in August.
                  A disappointing year, but such is gardening! Good years, bad years ... Like everything, it balances itself out in the long run.

                  Picked a bouquet of sweet peas this morning. All the others threw the towel in four weeks ago, but this line refuses to die!
                  Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.
                  Everything is worthy of kindness.

                    Yep real Goose Fair weather misty mornings with sunshine later but with little warmth. You can see the spiders webs a mile away though which is always a joy, not only are they very pretty you don't get them and their occupants stuck in your hair.

                      Happy Sunshiny October everyone

                      The trees are starting to look a bit tired, gone is the vibrant green of spring. Soon, they'll be putting on their orange and red party frocks and brightening up the countryside.
                      October walks in the woods, catching falling leaves, kicking up the leaves underfoot. Looking for conkers, polishing them on your sleeve, trying to make them even shinier..........and so on.

                      I like October! Brings out the Big Kid in me

                        So Bill, what was life like on the Glacier in October? No doubt those wolly mamouth blankets were invaluable
