  • Leek growth ?

Being related are leeks like onions in that they increase in size depending on the length of day ?
Just wondering if mine will sit there looking semi-pathetic or will thicken up as the days shorten.

    I am suspecting the worst.

Kirk my last years leeks stayed small but after seeing how expensive baby veg is I started to think they weren't the failures I first thought they were.

I'm in a similar position. I pulled my thicker leeks a few weeks back to thin them out, as rust was becoming an issue, thinking the thinner ones would catch up, and now I'm not so sure. But hey, baby veg can be nice. Just got to keep an eye on them for bolting as one had a flower shooting up today

As per normal I had the 'what the heck' attitude when my leeks were rusted to bu**ery and loped off the top 2/3rds. My idea being that if it didn't work I would still have fat, short leeks (but like me really) to use.

They now seem to be getting even fatter although the leaves are not replacing themselves as the once were.

The variety is Bleu de Solaise
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison
