  • Grass near rhubarb

I have a row off rhubarb at the lottie, the area is planed for grass next year, will it be alright left where it is and leave a space between it and the grass,it already has horsetail and creeping grass with it,my idea was to simply mow as close as possible,if not it will get a new home, thanks peeps

Trying to visualise what you plan to do. Are you planning to turf/ seed grass up to the rhubarb which is already growing.
I do know that regular mowing will weaken and eventual get rid of perennial weeds. I think you'd need to leave a bit of a gap between the rhubarb and the grass, leaving the crown free.

The rhubarb was planted aprox 3years ago,the grass was going to finish just short of it,am now thinking of extending it to beyond it,the grass seed will not be spread right up to the crowns,my idea is it will be an easy task to just mow,i just wondered if the plants will be ok with things, you see i have permission to do it instead of giving up the plot,i have previously been growing veg on the area,so big changes,
