  • Auricula seed.

Just wondering does anyone know where i can buy auricula seed. I have always wanted to give them a try but only now have the time.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Without goggling Bramble, I'm just wondering if any grapes are growing it that can save you some seed.

Auricula are lovely, aren't they. My Grampy had some on his allotment and I loved being able to pick some to take home to my Mum. Now that you've reminded me, Bramble, I may have to grow some myself!!
The National Auricula and Primula Society, The flower society for auriculas and primulas has some good links at the bottom about how to grow them, either from seed or offsets.
I'm sure most of the seed suppliers will have seeds, like Seeds Auricula. Viennese Waltz but for a quick fix, offsets may be the way to go.

I got mine off flea bay and they were full on show quality types really pleased. Germination was erratic and I only got 6/30 I think but I was really pleased. Mil gave me some plugs she got cheap somewhere possibly plants direct or van meuwen, but they were quite plain. Unfortunately I haven't managed to save any seed

I've bought some from Barnhaven and from W&S Lockyer this year. Barnaven aint cheap, but they're well known for aurics and Primulas. Lockyer I saw at the Chelsea show this year and their packets were about £3.50 from their stand, but I don't think he's on the interweb. Chiltern seeds will prob. have a general mix available. Pops Plants offer some seeds as well. Best of luck!

In a rash moment last year I bought some auricula seed. I sowed them today: two half size seed trays of seed compost, sprinkled the seeds on the top and a light sprinkling of vermiculite to hold the moisture in. They are now in a shady part of my cold greenhouse.

I've never done this before ... anyone got any tips?
