    Blackberries in short supply

    Not plot grown ones, but ones in the wild. Have been to two places now and there's barely any plants let along fruit!

    Am very disappointed. Have had some other places suggested though so am going to go and have a look later this week. Else there'll be no blackberry jam this year.

    That's a shame - we've got lots here, that's if they've survived the rain yesterday and today

    Think you've had a cooler Summer than us though?

    Not doing very well here for raspberries, as it's been a very dry year - so I spose it's swings and roundabouts.

      A few blackberries but the bushes seem to be dying! I'd say it was blight if they were potatoes.

        Not many in Wiltshire either, the ones I've checked out are small and still under ripe.

          Lots here around the hedges near me. Big juicy luscious ones. TBH I got tired of picking and processing them, there are so many. I've made jam, ice cream, and frozen loads of puree for B&A pie come winter.

              The ones around here seem to be a bit woody, but to be quite honest I'm more interested in the sloes.

                Blackberries here don't usually ripen until early September, there are tons of green ones, if we don't get enough sun they'll stay green sadly.

                    Ours have been pretty much done for a couple of weeks - they started in July though so I got some to make jelly with.
