I had a similar moment the other week when I was standing pointing at mine going "ooohheeehhaahhooooh" like the ending of invasion of the bodysnatchers (maybe it's actually a pod)
If it did treble in size every day for a week then on the 7th day on would be bigger than your greenhouse.
I think that is a tad too ambitious for your first melon. Maybe the next one.
They do bulk up pretty quickly- every day I look at mine I can see how much it's grown.
What variety is it?

Its Melon charantais magenta f1, at the moment its 50/50 as to whether I leave it or dump it to let other stuff grow....

Well done you! I have about 10 plans and only one melon between them I think they take too much time and effort for me and I've never been that kind of gardener - my plants are lucky to get water sometimes

awwww! I was so excited when I opened this thread....melons are becoming like the mythical blue fairy to me...
None found here yet....but then again, it is entirely possible that Dr Livingston is lurking in my greenhouse somewhere....Comment

Melon Update.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The melon in the picture I originally posted went yellow and fell off, but I've found another one on the same plant....
And behold....
What a whopper.... I'm so proud.
Its about the size of the palm of my hand.
Here's hoping it keeps growing.

This is what my melons look like. Not a flower to be seen
These are in the growhouse (Magenta on the left and Alvaro). I have one of each in my friend's greenhouse which look similar to this, and one of each outside which look greener but still have no flowers.

Well done!! Give it a little hammock to take the weight or it will get so heavy that it will pull the plant down. I used net veg packing/bags, worked well.

Melon Innuendo.
Finally after a summer of fretting, nurturing and faffing......
I got a melon. Not 100% ripe, about 90%, but very tasty.
The variety was Emir F1, but I'm considering having another go with Blenheim Orange as its more of a UK bred variety.
