today I picked two of the goosegog bushes and i was not looking forward to the topping and tailing, hours of trying to remove them, then I had a brainwave, I got OHs large flour sieve and turned it upside down and lightly rubbed the top and tails in a circular motion a few times each end and they come out clean each time and easily 3 times faster than trying to pick each one off, a big basinful done on my own in just over an hour and I don't dread doing the other 8/9 bushes so much now , always loved the flavour but hated the prep work...

todays was from two small bushes, all the rest are about double/triple the size and I wait until they are deep red before picking so they are quite sweet, problem is remembering to put some into the basin, as "I'm a very naughty boy" when it comes to picking fruit, I could chomp for Britain where fruit is concerned, and what annoys the wife is I don't put on any weight......
