today I picked two of the goosegog bushes and i was not looking forward to the topping and tailing, hours of trying to remove them, then I had a brainwave, I got OHs large flour sieve and turned it upside down and lightly rubbed the top and tails in a circular motion a few times each end and they come out clean each time and easily 3 times faster than trying to pick each one off, a big basinful done on my own in just over an hour and I don't dread doing the other 8/9 bushes so much now , always loved the flavour but hated the prep work...
