  • Is it too late to grow anything this year?

A bad case of sciatica has prevented me from attending my allotment since the end of February. Consequently it's overgrown!

I'm not a very knowledgeable or experienced gardener. I've like to plant something but am at a loss at whether is still possible to grow something this year - even if it's only planting something that can be dug in to fertilise the ground. All comments greatly appreciated, thanks.

There's quite a lot you can still grow this year, take a look in the 'winter veggies' thread for ideas!

I'd add fennel and even French beans to the list.
