  • new addition to my garden.

Good evening.....my new addition (james grieves cordon) arrived today. i bought it from chris bowers & sons. really happy with the way the tree was packaged arrived really quick (i orderd it late sunday night)

i was going to put it into the ground but decided against it. tree looks young & healthy to me(but I'm no expert)
kinda wish the steam was a little bit thicker, i think it might take a while before its ready to produce fruit.

hope you have all enjoyed the sun today.

My experience of James Grieve is that it's quite slender-stemmed and droopy.

My experience of Bowers is that they are quick and the plants of decent quality, but from what I've seen and experienced, they far too readily substitute varieties without telling you (or perhaps they have more than their fair share of mis-labelling). Whatever.....I would not buy from them again unless I was able to drop in and hand-pick a tree which was already labelled.

Well I hope I have what I ordered, lol for a novice like me it would be near impossible to tell varieties bu just looking. There was no tag on the tree just a printed bit of paper stating what I had ordered.

That's one of the reasons I didn't put it into the ground. If it does fail or turn out to be not what I wanted it's not such a big deal.

      Thanks for your reply.
