Any tips on keeping a carrot seed drill moist I can't make it to the plot every day to water. So they keep drying out and not germinating

Could try covering them with plastic, I've sure I'veread here on the vine a tip about placing a plank of wood over parsnip seeds to help them germinate so maybe try that way.Location....East Midlands. -
I make a dip in the soil, water it really well and then sow. Cover over and then never water again. If the soil is nice and wet below the seed you don't really need to keep watering, they will germinate fine. If you're in pots though it's a totally different scenario.

I think some one said also said make the drill a bit deeper, put a thin layer of MPC in the bottom and then the carrot seeds and then cover with a little bit more MPC. Think the MPC keeps the moisture a bit better than just soil.sigpicComment
