  • Sea Kale

Have 5 germinated plants- they look sturdy but are only an inch tall- what should I do next? Pot on, wait a bit? What sort of soil do they like?
Joy Larkcom has no advice on the subject, nor Monty Don so am relying on fellow grapes!
No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

I know they are meant to like free draining sandy soil as they are a coastal plant but I have never succeded with this plant.

So please let me know how you get on. I don't know why this plant has died out as a food crop but for reference/reading if you look at the victorian garden with harry dodson or dig for victory books.
