Wheels for barrows can be a problem. I think that Screwfix do them at a reasonable price. Just measure the diameter of the old wheel and away you go.

Considering the cost of a decent wheel, you might as well get a new barrow lol
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

ok, let me tell you one thing. this is our lottie neighbour's allotment. he is such kind person that we can barrow all his tools and stuff. and dad had burst the wheel barrow(don't really know what exactly happened as we never used it before). DH thinks to buy new one for lottie neighbour, but I do not like the idea of throwing this old one away, we might need 2nd one though for my 2nd allotment.

obviously do not want to buy 2 wheel barrows , please advise me what could have happened to the wheel and how to measure it for replacement.

should i buy wheel or tyre and tube?

I did a refurb on the 6 allotment wheelbarrows recently. The standard size, if there is one is 14". However you also need to consider the diameter and length of your axle. From experience putting a new tube in a tyre is really hard, so would go with a complete wheel or solid wheel.

Just one tip. I went to the effort of getting a new wheel and on inspection the nut was truely welded/rusted on so I actually couldn't swap it. I couldnt be bothered to grind it off so brought a new barrow

I'm forever puncturing my wheelbarrow, I now find it a doddle to fix with a puncture outfit. Mindst, I have done it so many times............

I think I would take the old wheel off - thus checking that I can indeed replace it - then take it with me to the shop so I can compare it against the ones on sale (or give it to an assistant and say "do you have one of these?"). Of course once you've got the wheel off you might as well try and mend the puncture...
