  • Keeping off the cats

Trimming back a few stems of self-seeded feverfew that had flopped over the path last week, I realised I really didn't like the strong smell of it much, which led to a light bulb moment.

If I thought it stank, what must it smell like to cats? So instead of dumping the stems in the compost, I picked off all the leaves, tore them into smaller pieces, and strewed them over the veg patch which one of the local cats has been using regularly for a comfort stop.

So far, so good. No little "presents" for me to remove all week. If it really works, it's such a simple, (and free) solution. Feverfew grows like a weed, I'm forever pulling out self seeders. But no more. From now on I shall treasure every seedling.

Going to try it scattered on the front lawn next, a place favoured by another of the neighbourhood moggies.
    Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
    Endless wonder.
