Can anyone ID this fruit tree please?

    Can anyone ID this fruit tree please?

    Hi,
    Sorry, I know I should be patient but I took over an allotment a few weeks ago and there are two fruit trees at the back. I'd pruned them back a little to get past but have now realised they are some kind of stone fruit, so that was probably a bad plan.

    They flowered before the leaves came out and now look like this.. I'm guessing some kinds of plum. Galls are normally pretty specific so that may help.

    It is a plum / gage / damson. Possibly *not* Victoria though.

      100% agree it is Plum, Gage, Damson. Could be Pluot, but very doubtful.

      *not* Victoria though.--Curious to know why not?--Is it the galls?

        Leaves don't look right.

        Are you saying the galls could be variety-specific?

            It is a Plums, gages and damsons. It is all stone fruits that thrive in sheltered & warm gardens. Their taste varies from tart and spicy, to sweet and perfumed. Your luck to have that in your backyard.

              Thanks, looks like I have an interesting wait to see what the fruit look like for an ID. Both trees were covered in flowers but only one seems to have set fruit. I just hope I can reach some, the trees are about twice as tall as me.

                Leaves look the same as my Victoria? (without the galls though).
