  • Grow your own midge control container

Just came across this and thought it was a neat idea for a patio to keep those mozzies at bay through the summer.

I've been recommended that peppermint and lemon balm and lavender do the same job so I'm having a go
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

Bog-myrtle may not be the best looking plant but is a good one to have, to keep the midge at bay,
some other thing you can do, is drink tonic water which is supposed to keep them away
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Member of the Nutters Club but I think I am just there to make up the numbers

So if I plant a tub as above it will help to keep midges at bay...even Scottish ones?! Has anyone tried it and does it actually work?

Ah well, Scottish midges are in a class of their own. You breed 'em tough up there. I doubt anything would keep them at bay.
