Pretty sure they're tree seedlings - ash or sycamore maybe?

RE the photos, they'll look the same whichever way up they are.
If you either crop them, or take them horizontally, it should work! Can't speak from experience as I don't use a phone

I would say ash seedlings, we have plenty round here and they are just appearing now. Hoeing should sort them out!

I would say sycamore but only because they seem to grow easier than the seeds off my ash. Did you have them last year as it was a bumper year (forget the word) for a lot of sycamore.

          Ash or sycamore.
We have a sycamore tree which drops them into our gravel path.

Wish we could hoe them up!

I have to go round an pick them out individually

Horizontal howling on a sunny day will either chop them, or they will dry out in the sun.

The good thing is that they're not going to self seed for a good few years!

Hi, Thanks for the advice. I do have a tree on my plot, a sycamore, so must of come from that. Didn't have seedlings at all last year so surprised to get them this year.
